The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was organized on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of the Tajik National University dated September 2016 “On approval of the structure of the medical faculty.” The department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rafieva Zarina Hamdamovna. There were 4 main teachers at the department: 1 doctor of medical sciences, professor, 2 candidates of sciences and 1 assistant of the department. Currently, the department has a total of 6 full-time employees – head of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rafieva Zarina Hamdamovna; Professor of the Department Doctor of Medical Sciences. Educational and methodological work of the department
The teaching staff of the department carries out a great deal of educational and methodological work, including the preparation of textbooks, teaching aids. The department presents teaching aids and textbooks on the discipline, which were developed by the department’s staff, visual material is used in teaching (tables, slides, presentations, videos).
The department teaches the following disciplines:

The quality of training is assessed by transfer and state exams.

Scientific work of the department.
All employees of the department in 1 direction and 1 main topic of the department, as well as in other scientific areas, take part in the implementation of the research plan. Direction: Contribution to reducing the incidence of pregnancy complications in women with various forms of parasitic infections ascariasis and giardiasis in the Republic of Tajikistan . Problem: High frequency of helminthic infestation among women with pathological pregnancy in the Republic of Tajikistan Topic: Optimization of algorithms for examination and management of pregnant women with various forms of parasitic infections ascariasis and giardiasis in the Republic of Tajikistan . During the 2022/2023 academic year, employees of the department continued their scientific activities in the process of the approved topic (2021-2025) of the department and completed the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages of the research.Every year, employees of the department take an active part in the republican scientific and theoretical conferences of the teaching staff of TNU and in other scientific events of the country.

The department has two student directions:
• Obstetrics, on the basis of the Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Istiklol Medical Center, under the guidance of the professor of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences. The program of their work includes thematic analysis of birth histories and medical histories, analysis of topics in the form of abstract reports. Seminar classes are held once every two weeks, and a plenary session is held once every two months, where students make presentations in abstract form, as well as Power Point presentations. Particularly interesting works are presented at annual scientific student conferences, which were awarded diplomas and certificates of honor.

Rafieva Zarina Hamdamovna – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Tajik National University. Date of birth: December 19, 1966. Rafieva Zarina Hamdamovna graduated from the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali Ibn Sino in 1992. In 1992-1993 completed an internship at the regional maternity hospital in Leninabad (now Khujand). In 1993-1999 worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist in the regional maternity hospital in Khujand. From 1998 to 2004 she worked as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the branch of the Abuali Ibni Sino Tajik State Medical Universityin Khujand. She defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Physical and sexual development of girls and young women with diffuse nontoxic goiter” in 2002. Since 2004, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No2 in Tajik medical university . , and since 2009 – as an associate professor of this department. In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Features of the reproductive health of women exposed to psychotraumatic factors” at the dissertation council of the Pirogov Russian State Medical University in Moscow.Since 2011, she was competitively elected to the position of professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Tajik medical university named after Abuali ibn Sino. Rafieva Zarina Hamdamovna in 2014 was appointed head of the department of medical diagnostics of the medical and pharmaceutical faculty of the Tajik National University. In 2015, she headed the department of surgical disciplines, and in 2016 she was elected on a competitive basis as the head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology of the Faculty of Medicine of the Tajik National University.Rafieva Z.Kh. is the head of the department’s scientific work on the topic “Optimization of the algorithm for diagnosis and management of pregnant women with ascariasis and giardiasis infection based on studying the characteristics of the course of the underlying disease, pregnancy, childbirth, obstetric and perinatal outcomes with various forms of these parasitic infections in the Republic of Tajikistan .” Author of more than 250 scientific articles, 3 monographs, 2 manuals, 8 teaching aids, 2 textbooks. Under the leadership of Rafieva Z.Kh. three candidates of medical sciences defended their dissertations, and three applicants approved the topic of their dissertations.
Abdurakhmonova Firuza Muinovna – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, TNU. Date of birth: May 22, 1969. Abdurakhmanova Firuza Muinovna, entered TSMI in 1986 and graduated with honors in 1992. Completed clinical residency and graduate school from 1994 to 1998. In 1997 she defended her dissertation on the topic “Sexual and physical development of girls and young women whose mothers were exposed to pesticides during pregnancy. Since 1997, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Pediatrics, and since 1999 – Associate Professor of the Department.In 2002, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Epidemiology of sexual and physical development of girls and young women in Tajikistan and technology for predicting obstetric and gynecological pathologies.” Since 2003, she was elected professor, and in 2005, head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology No. 2 of the Abuali ibni Sino TSMU. Since 2022, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, TNU.Author of more than 150 scientific articles, 6 methodological recommendations for practical healthcare doctors, 5 methodological manuals, 7 rationalization proposals. Under the leadership of Abdurakhmanova F.M., 6 graduate students and applicants defended their dissertations, 1 applicant is completing his dissertation work “Optimization and introduction of late miscarriages”
Umarova Malohat Amirshoevna – candidate of medical sciences, assistant of the department. Date of birth: June 6, 1978. In 2003 she graduated from the Abuali Ibn Sino TSMU. In 2005, she completed her master’s degree at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1. From 2006 to 2007, she worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the antenatal clinic at the central hospital of the city of Nurek, and in 2007 she was appointed head of the gynecological department of the central hospital of the city of Nurek.In 2010, she entered graduate school at the State Medical University of St. Petersburg, and in 2013 she defended her Ph.D. thesis. In 2014, she worked as the head of the department of the Reproductive Health Center at the city health center No. 7 in Dushanbe. Since 2016, he has been working as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Tajik National University.
Shukurova Zulhumor Toshpulotovna In 1992 she entered the pediatric faculty of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino and graduated with honors. From 1998 to 2000, she completed clinical residency at the maternity hospital No. 2 in Dushanbe. From 2000 to 2001 she worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of TSMU named after. Abuali ibni Sino. From 2001 to 2020 she worked as an assistant in this department. In 2006, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “MAZ Antioxidant Syrup and Low-Frequency Laser Radiation in the Complex Therapy of Preeclampsia.” From 2020 to 2022, she worked in the city maternity hospital No. 2 of Dushanbe as an obstetrician-gynecologist. Since 2023, she has been working at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Medicine of TNU as a department assistant. Author of 8 articles and 6 theses, 2 innovation proposals and one patent.
Talbova Zarina Sayolimovna – Assistant of the department. Date of birth: January 8, 1971. In 1988 she entered the Tajik State Medical University named after.
Abuali ibn Sino and graduated in 1994. From 1995 to 1997, she completed clinical residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Abuali Ibni Sino Tatar State Medical University. From 1997 to 2008 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the TSMU named after Abuali Ibni Sino. From 2008 to 2016 she worked as a medical trainer in international organizations. Since 1016 he has been an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, TNU. Umararova Takhmia Saidakhmadovna – assistant of the department. Date of birth: September 8, 1985 In 2003, she entered the Tajik State Medical University named after. Abuali ibni Sino. In 2009, she graduated from it and completed an internship at the Tajik Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of the SZN of the Republic of Tajikistan. From 2010 to 2013, she worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the gynecological department of the Central District Hospital of the Dangara region. From 2013 to 2015, she completed clinical residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Abuali Ibni Sino Tajik State Medical University.In 2016, she was admitted to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Abuali Ibni Sino Tajik State Medical University as a senior laboratory assistant and from 2018 to 2022 she worked as an assistant at this department.
