History of the Department of Pathological Physiology and Pathological Anatomy with Forensic Medicine of the Medical Faculty of the National University of Tajikistan

     The Department of Pathological Physiology and Pathological Anatomy with Forensic Medicine was created at the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic years on the basis of the Department of Morphology of the Faculty of Medicine of TNU. The department is located on the second floor of educational building 3-A. On the basis of bilateral agreements, the department was allocated separate rooms at the National Medical Center “Shifobakhsh” and the State Institution of the Republican and Center for Skin and Venereal Diseases.

     Since the founding of the head, the department is headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Nuraliev Makhmadali Dostmurodovich. Associate Professor Nuraliev M.D. in 1992y graduated from the Faculty of Pediatrics of the Tajik State Medical University named by after Abuali ibn Sino. In 2007y defended his thesis on the topic “Epidemiology, clinical picture and improvement of therapy for trichophytosis in hot climates” and in 2023y received the title of associate professor.

     The number of teachers and assistants of the department during its activity increased from 6 to 20 working units. Currently, the department has 8 core employees and 16 employees, of which 6 people have an academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. The scientific degree of the department is 52.6%. The teaching experience of teachers ranges from 1 to 30 years.

Educational activities:

At the department, classes in pathological physiology, pathological anatomy, forensic medicine, dermatovenereology are conducted in Tajik and Russian. Subjects of pathological physiology and pathological anatomy in the 3rd and 4th years of medical, dental and therapeutic-diagnostic specialties, dermatovenerology in the 4th and 5th years of medical and therapeutic-diagnostic specialties and 2nd years of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the subject of forensic medicine with pathological anatomy is taught in the 3rd and 6th years diagnostic and treatment specialties and general medicine.

Educational and methodological works

Teachers and staff of the department carry out their educational and methodological activities mainly by writing textbooks and methodological instructions. In particular, the head of the department, associate professor Nuraliev M.D., assistants Kosimov A.M. and Dustmurodova F.M. 2 textbooks on the subject “Dermatology” in Tajik and Russian languages, head of the department, associate professor Nuraliev M.D. ., associate professor Saidov I.Z. and assistant Rustamova L.M. a textbook “Lecture Course on Pathological Physiology” was prepared and published, consisting of 2 parts in Russian.

In addition, curricula, syllabuses, lecture texts, questionnaires for tests and written exams in the department’s subjects are constantly revised, updated and submitted for publication.

Research works.

All employees of the department take an active part in the implementation of the research plan. The theme of the department’s research work was “Study of pathomorphological changes as a result of disturbances in metabolic processes and energy in the organs and systems of the body.” Its stages include collecting literature on a research topic, metabolic disorders, choosing research methods, conducting scientific research, classifying various types of metabolic disorders, dividing patients into groups depending on age and metabolic disorders (diabetes mellitus, obesity, atherosclerosis), evaluation of research results, training of applicants on topics, implementation of results in medical practice, which are carried out at certain periods.

Assistant of the department Ashurova N.S. defended her scientific work on the topic “Respiratory pressure in children and its features.” Assistant Rustamova L.M. is a candidate for the Department of Innovative Technologies and Experimental Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. Employees of the department regularly participate in international, republican and university scientific, practical and theoretical conferences of teachers, staff and students of TNU, presenting reports and theses. The results of research activities are published in the form of abstracts and articles in conference proceedings and scientific journals. The department has a student scientific circle, where students make scientific reports according to the approved plan. Club members presented more than 50 scientific reports at republican scientific and practical conferences of TNU students and received letters of gratitude from the Faculty Secretariat.

Educational and social work

In this direction, the teachers of the department are doing wonderful work in educating young people. All teachers of the department are curators of academic groups. According to the schedule of educational classes, teachers conduct educational activities with groups once a week. Photo sessions are organized in a timely manner with students about celebrations and rituals, political and cultural events, instructions and orders of the Government, universities and government. They conduct a lesson about extremism and terrorism, the etiquette of communication in public places, the regulation of rituals within the framework of current legislation, the harm and consequences of the misuse of mobile phones. Particular attention is paid to student participation in practical exercises and lectures. If the student does not participate in the training, the lesson is conducted in the form of a compulsory lesson.
