The department was established and began its activities in 2015. Since September 2015, Professor Talabzoda M.S., from 2016-2017, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nurov R.M., and Ph.D. Kurbonov K.M headed the department. From 2018 to 2021, this position was occupied by candidate of medical sciences Khomidova T.M. From 2021 to the present time, the head of the department is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor N.S. Odinaev. During his work N.S. Odinaev improved and updated his knowledge and skills at the Kirov Research Institute and Military Medical Academy in Russia. Odinaev N.S. published and developed a total of 160 articles and theses for various journals, 9 books, including 5 monographs, 28 manuals and 2 textbooks. Also, two literary works and 2 poetry were written by Odinaev.
The department teaches the following subjects: childhood infectious diseases, infectious diseases, general hygiene, social hygiene(public health), health economics, tuberculosis and childhood tuberculosis, epidemiology.

Preface
In 2022-2023, the department works according to the curriculum, and also carries out scientific research work of the department according to the plan. During the reporting period, employees of the Department of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases actively participated in the implementation and implementation of instructions and recommendations of the administration and rector’s office. To improve the quality of teaching, teachers from the country carried out the following work: presence in each other’s classes, as well as participation in lectures and practical classes by teachers with extensive teaching experience. Teachers in the classroom use new interactive teaching methods. Working with patients, interviewing, collecting anamnesis at the patient’s bedside, describing the medical history, the ability to compose a dialogue with patients. Working with students, attracting students to participate in conferences, preparing presentations and interpreting slides. Student scientific circle
At the Department of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, from the beginning of its activities, the scientific circle “Young Epidemiologists-Shifobakhsh” was organized and operates to this day.
The scientific circle functions under the leadership of Associate Professor of the Department Abdulloeva M.A. Once a week, circle members gather and discuss various topics and propose topics for discussion for the next conference. During the reporting period, students actively participated in the work of the circle. It should be noted that 15 students participated in various scientific and public events, thereby increasing their knowledge and skills in conducting research. During the academic year, 10 scientific events were held with the aim of acquiring and improving the skills of scientific discussions and justifying one’s point of view.
Due to the recommendation of the dean of the faculty, teacher of the department, Abdulloeva M.A. has made more than 8 speeches on various health topics in the media. Students members of the scientific circle actively participated in events dedicated to the International Day against TB Diseases. This event was organized at the initiative of the Stop TB Association in the Republic of Tajikistan and took place on April 5 in Kokhi Surush. Students won the quiz in three categories.
Behavior Educational work
Teachers of the department make their contribution to the education of students on their behavior. Among the teachers of the department there are course curators. Every two months, according to the work plan, curators report on the results of their curatorial activities at department meetings.
